Charles Cassidy

Police Officer Charles Cassidy, assigned to the 35th district, was on routine patrol, performing a security check at the Dunkin Donuts located at 6620 N. Broad Street October 31, 2007 at 10:29am. Upon entering the premises, Officer Cassidy interrupted a robbery at the point of gun. The offender fired one shot, fatally wounding Officer Cassidy. He succumbed to his injuries on the following day. Officer Cassidy was 54 years-old, served with the Philadelphia Police Department for 25 years, and is survived by a wife, two daughters, and his son.
