Stephen Dmytryk

Officer Stephen Dmytryk and his partner, assigned to the 9th District District, were on a burglary detail when they witnessed an attempted robbery by two offenders at 19th and Spring Garden Streets at approximately 8:45pm. Officer Dmytryk was shot and killed when he attempted to intervene. His partner returned fire and killed one of the suspects. Officer Dmytryk was 46 years-old, served with the Department for 15 years, and is survived by his wife, daughter and son.
