Police Officer Knox, assigned to the 1st District, along with his partner, was responding to a radio call of a robbery in progress inside of a Roy Rogers restaurant at Broad Street and Snyder Avenue at approximately 8:45pm. Upon arrival into the restaurant, the officers became involved in a struggle with the offenders, and Officer Knox was shot and killed. His partner was also wounded, and survived his injuries. Officer Knox was 31 years-old, served with the Department for 2 years, and was survived by his son.
