John S. Trettin

Police Officer Trettin, assigned to the Stakeout Unit, was responding to a report of a shooting, and was shot and critically wounded by sniper fire at a South Philadelphia Housing Project located at 25th and Jackson Streets on February 25, 1976 at 8:15pm. He succumbed to his injuries four days later. Officer Trettin was 29 years-old and served with the Department for 5 years.
