Police Officer Fredericksdorf, assigned to the 1st District, was critically injured after he slipped and struck his head on the pavement while returning to his patrol vehicle on February 1916, 1972. He had just responded to a radio call for a disturbance at the Steer Inn at Broad and Hartranft Streets, where he disbursed a group of males throwing stones at restaurant patrons. He succumbed to his injuries three days later. He was 23 years-old and served with the Department for over 1 year.
