Unit: Highway Patrol
On July 8th, 2012, Police Officer Brian Lorenzo, assigned to Highway Patrol, was driving his Philadelphia Police Department motorcycle on I-95 when he was struck and killed by an intoxicated driver. The offender was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of I-95 in the Northeast section of the city where Officer Lorenzo was driving. Officer Brian Lorenzo was 48 years-of-age and served with the Philadelphia Police Department for 23 years. He was assigned to the 25th District for 8 years and served 15 years in the Highway Patrol Unit. Officer Lorenzo is survived by his wife and three children, a sister and two brothers, one of whom is also a Philadelphia Police Officer.
